Spreadsheet Puzzle Game

25 Mar

Here’s a new game that I found that is pretty fun.  It takes the idea of an Excel spreadsheet and makes it fun.  You need to move around filled in cells and use warps to get to a goal. Kind of like Kwirk in a way except that you don’t move the boxes.  There is another Game Boy game that is close but I can’t, for the life of me, remember what it was called.

Anyway, here it is: Excit

My Retro Flash Site from 2003

29 Aug

I was checking out some of my old work the other day and found my old flash site I did in 2003. For being so old it’s still kind of cool. I posted it here: dirq.net/retro. It was last updated almost exactly 4 years ago on 8/20/2007.

Retro Flash Site

I had a nice nostalgic walk around in it and I remembered all of my old photography. My TV series (see optical in the flash site) was pretty cool and everyone looks so young. There are still a few that have never been published. I need to get those up in some gallery somewhere someday. They are all printed on 11×14″ archival paper but I’d never be able to get my new material to match the old. I’d have to reprint them all. And to reprint I’d have to actually find them all. Hmm.. Would there even be interest in that?

Get the Best Out of Pandora

19 Sep

Here’s a great article on getting the best out of Pandora (a music site that will help you find new and exciting music):
15 ways to get more out of Pandora

I’m using the OpenPandora app right now and it rocks hardcore! It’s an application that runs on your local computer and talks to your Pandora account. Select a song or artist and Pandora will find music that is close to it. You’ll get all sorts of new material this way. It’s really sweet.

Here are some of the things that I have bookmarked recently:

The 10th Dimension

11 Sep

Ever wonder what the tenth dimension is like.  This site will try to show you:  http://www.tenthdimension.com/

It tries to explain all the dimensions from 1 to 10.  It’s kind of hard to grasp after the 4th (time) but if nothing it’s still a cool flash animation that’s worth a couple minutes of your time.

Color in Motion

22 Aug

Check out “Color in Motion” – http://www.mariaclaudiacortes.com/ – a site that gives a really creative overview color usage. The Flash animation is really cool and gives some valuable insight into the psychology of color.
